Job Description

We work on an array of projects ranging from fiction to non-fiction books, memoirs, e-books, copy and content writing and strategy. For our brilliant editing to shine we must understand the dream of the client to interpret the vision expertly using our skill and creativity.Embracing the right use of language and tone of voice is vital for project success and impact.

 

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Freelance Editor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of the English language, exceptional editing skills, and a keen eye for detail. You will be responsible for reviewing and refining various types of written content, manuscripts drafts, books, copy and content. You will adhere to tone of voice, language, and design.

Responsibilities

Content Editing
  1. Edit and proof-read a variety of written material from articles to books and everything in-between.
  2. Ensure that content is grammatically correct, well-structured.
Quality Assurance
  1. Conduct thorough quality checks to identify and rectify errors in spelling, grammar, punctuation, structure, and syntax.
  2. Verify factual accuracy and consistency in information presented.
Adherence
  1. Ensure all content aligns with defined style and brand guidelines
  2. Consistently maintain a consistent tone and voice throughout the copy, content, or manuscript.
          Communication:
  1. Collaborate effectively with writer and other team members to clarify edits and provide constructive feedback.
  2. Communicate with project managers to meet deadlines and all project requirements
Research
  1. Conduct research as needed to verify information, ensure accuracy and enhance the overall quality of the content.
Feedback and Revision:
  1. Provide constructive feedback to writers and content managers to enhance their skills and improve project quality and delivery.
  2. Revise and re-edit content based on feedback and client requirements
Requirements:
  1. Proven experience as a freelance editor or in a similar editing role
  2. Strong command of the English Language, including grammar, punctuation, and syntax.
  3. Proficiency in using editing tools and software
  4. Attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality standards
  5. Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  6. Familiarity with style guides, brand guides, layout styles, themes, font guides and structure to present the content or text in a visually appealing format.
  7. Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
